First nasty bruise

Learning to stand and walk is dangerous business. It leaves one with nasty bruises on their forehead. She is fine; bumped and banged up a bit but still trying.

Our afternoon at the Stay and Play Cafe

We went to the Stay and Play Cafe this afternoon for some coffee and playtime. Dahlia showed us how much she can MOVE! She has become quite fast at her version of crawling, sits up from being on her belly, pulls up, sits from standing, and is beginning to cruise along surfaces. It seems like everyday she masters a new trick. She has also started to mimic people, which makes for a lot of fun games. Here are some pictures and videos from our afternoon.

10 Months Old

At 10 months old, Dahlia is becoming quite mobile and independent. She has learned how to pull up, and she loves it! The frustrating part is she has a hard time getting back down. Sometimes that scares her, but she is learning! She has also decided that she likes to feed herself, and she would prefer if we let her do it without any help from us. She is pretty adamant about that. Since she can't quite use a spoon yet, we have had to get creative about how she eats things. She loves to suck food straight from the little Plum pouches and she is good at picking up things like carrots, green beans, potatoes, meats, and bread. The girl LOVES to eat. She still smiles at everyone, especially other children. She is quite social and gregarious. She is growing fast!

Playtime with Riker

Riker is very protective of Dahlia and is impressively patient with her.

She is still and quiet sometimes...

Trying to crawl

For the life of her, she can't figure out this crawling thing. She tries this, as well as "army crawling" with her arms pulling her along.

Teeth!

Dahlia was cheesing in her chair, so I snapped a picture. You can see all 7 (that's right, 7) of her teeth!
